Mrs. Alice Lorraine (Gann) Adams (née Gore), of Hooker, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the age of 77.
Alice was born to parents Guy and Dortha Jo Gore on August 28, 1940, in Guymon, OK. She grew up as an only child and attended Boise City High School. She attended Central Business College in Denver, CO, and in 1959, she married Nathan Gann, also of Boise City. She worked for various businesses in Albuquerque, NM and Canoga Park, CA before she and Nate moved to Guymon, OK with their two young boys in 1967. She spent 30 years working for Hitch Feed Lot, retiring as the office manager in 2002. She attended and was active in the First Christian Church of Guymon, OK, and enjoyed bowling and fishing with her late husband Nate.
Alice married Claude Adams in 2001 and the couple moved to Hooker, OK in 2006. They attended the Church of Christ and spent time traveling and attending dances at various senior centers in the area before she was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease and admitted to Morton County Senior Living Community in Elkhart, KS.
Alice is survived by her sons Brad of Monument, CO and Roger of Okarche, OK and six grandchildren; Brendan, Stefanie, Derek, Siobhan, Caitlyn and Nate. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Nathan and her parents, Guy and Dortha Jo Gore.
Visitation will be open to the public and held at Henson's Funeral Home on Friday, July 13, 2018 between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m. A celebration of life will take place at the Church of Christ, 401 Madison, Hooker, Oklahoma, on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. followed by a lunch and reception. Burial of cremains will be in Elmhurst Cemetery, Guymon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alice’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at alzheimersassociation.org.
