Virginia Macias

October 30, 1928 ~ June 12, 2016 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Virginia Macias, 87 year old Guymon resident, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Northwest Texas hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

Virginia Lee Van Horn was born on October 30, 1928 in Whitesboro, Oklahoma to Lynn Allen and Mary Rebecca (Wright) Van Horn.  Virginia attended school in Ada, Oklahoma and later moved to Canadian, Texas.

On June 27, 1953, Virginia married Bill Macias in Perryton, Texas.  Virginia worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at the Perryton Hospital for many years.  Virginia was most of all a caregiver to her family; she would go and stay days or weeks at a time to take care of family that was ill.  Virginia loved to fish and was quite serious about it, and enjoyed her time volunteering Loaves and Fishes.

Virginia is survived by two daughters; Kay Brune of Guymon;  Ann Hendershot and husband David of Amarillo, Texas; three sisters, Raye Walraven of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Faye Tackett of Jacksonville, Florida and Pat Roberts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; one brother, Dr. Curtis Van Horn and wife Nancy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Virginia is also survived by one granddaughter, Abby Hendershot of Amarillo, Texas and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill on February 3, 1998, three brothers Oscar Van Horn, L.A. Van Horn and Wilbur Van Horn, and a sister-in-law Dolores Van Horn.

Local Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016 at Panhandle Bible Center, 1901 North Lelia, Guymon, Oklahoma with Jim Jamieson officiating.  A memorial service will also be held in Oklahoma City on Friday, July 8th, 11:00 A.M. at the Church of the Open Arms, 3131 N Pennsylvania Ave, Oklahoma City.  Cremation and services are under the care of Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.  Memorials may be made out to Loaves and Fishes Food Cupboard. c/o Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, P.O.
