Peggy Boren

November 2, 1942 ~ April 2, 2016 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Peggy Sharon Boren, 73, passed away early Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Pioneer Manor in Hugoton, Kansas.

The daughter of Clement “Chief” and Juanita (Shurley) Davis, Peggy was born November 2, 1942 in Holdenville, Oklahoma.  The Davis family moved to Hooker, Oklahoma in 1948.  Peggy attended Hooker schools and graduated from Hooker High School.  She was united in marriage to Duane Lee Boren on November 16, 1964 in Clayton, New Mexico.  Peggy loved to play the piano and sing.  She had a strong faith and was baptized at the Hooker First Christian Church.  Duane and Peggy had lived in Guymon where Peggy had worked for several years at Memorial Hospital and worked as a dispatcher for the Guymon Police Department.    She enjoyed cooking and gardening and was a huge University of Oklahoma Sooner and Dallas Cowboy fan. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clement “Chief” and Juanita Davis and her husband, Duane, who passed away October 24, 1998 and brother-in-law Doug Duncan on April 14, 2013.

She is survived by her sister, Marion and husband, Jim Sarchet of Hooker, OK; special niece and nephew, Elizabeth Hecox of Norman, Oklahoma; Jeff Hill and wife, Tonya of Hugoton, KS; and a very special friend that she treated as a son, Garrett Helton and his wife, DeeAnn and their daughter, Addison Grace.

Memorial services will be Tuesday morning, April 5th, 11:00 AM at the Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel, 501 NW Fifth with Rev. Craig Denslow of First United Methodist Church and Don Ukens of Hooker, Oklahoma officiating.  Interment will be in Elmhurst Cemetery.
