Pauline Braley

Pauline Braley, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 in Edmond, OK.

Pauline Zoe Grunewald was born January 14, 1928 at the home place near Mutual, OK to John Byron and Mary Francis (Nelson) Grunewald.

Pauline attended Mutual Public Schools, graduating in 1946, then attended Oklahoma Women’s College in Chickasha, OK. Pauline married Jack Dean Braley November 3, 1950 at Mutual Methodist Church in Mutual, OK. After Jack finished his Military service they made their home in Guymon.  The Braleys owned Guymon Heat and Air and Jack served as Mayor and City Councilman for many years. 

Pauline is survived by her sister, Jean Hackett of Tulsa, OK, her brother Pat Grunewald and wife Orphi of Woodward, OK, two sisters-in-law Dee Grunewald of Mutual, OK and Christine Persons of Woodward, OK; two sons, Steve Braley and wife Merrilee of Tyler, TX and Brian Braley and wife Ann of Edmond, OK She is also survivied by her four grandchildren, Gant Braley and wife Shannon of Parker, TX, Spencer Braley of Tyler, TX, Cole Braley and wife Dannette of Mutual, OK, and Mary Braley Chance and husband Brock of Edmond, OK; seven great-grandchildren, Jack and Barrett Braley of Parker, TX, Chance, Kambri, and Morgan Braley and Campbell and Thompson McAllister of Mutual, OK. Pauline is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Jack D. Braley in 1995, her brothers Dale Grunewald and Max Grunewald, sister-in-law Dorothy Grunewald, brothers-in-law Ted Monhollon and Bill Hackett.

The last three years, Pauline lived in Oklahoma City at Town Village, an independent living facility. 

Pauline was a special Gigi and will be missed by all that knew her. She was an expert at the bridge table and an excellent golfer, immensely enjoying both with friends and family. A longtime member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, Pauline served in many ways. She especially loved her Methodist Women friends and enjoyed her work with the clothing ministry.

Services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, 523 North Roosevelt, Guymon, OK with Rev. Don Taylor and Rev. Gary Holdeman, officiating. Interment will Elmhurst Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday evening, 6-8:00 PM at the Henson-Novak Funeral Home, 501 NW Fifth Street, Guymon.  The Braley family would like to extend an invitation to all of Pauline’s friends and family for a reception at The Willows Inn Bed and Breakfast, following graveside services.
