Joyce Scott, 76 year old lifelong Guymon resident, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at her residence in Guymon.

Joyce Elaine Scott was born December 25, 1940 in Pratt, Kansas to Oscar Leonard and Clara P. (Scwindt) Scott.  Shortly after she was born the family moved to Guymon.

Joyce attended Guymon Public Schools graduating with the class of 1958. She went on to earn a business degree from Panhandle A &M in 1962. Joyce started working at the city offices towards the end of her senior year and worked there till her retirement in 1991. She served in the city clerk capacity from 1978 till 1991.

She was a member of The First Baptist Church in Guymon and was strong in her faith.

Joyce belonged to the hospital auxiliary for many years and was always there to lend a helping hand.  She was an avid reader, quilted, played the piano, but most of all loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sisters, Carol Burch and husband Wes and Gayle Perkins and husband Joe; two brothers, Leonard (Ray) Scott and wife Linda and Larry DeWayne Scott and wife Lora. Joyce is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Kathy Lois Lile and Peggy Marie Bailey and  also one nephew Kelley Conrad.

Services will be conducted 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at The First Baptist Church in Guymon with Pastor Michael Carter officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmhurst cemetery.
