Joy Gale (Carter) Hughes, 73, died at her home, Friday, October 14, 2016 in Malvern, AR.  Joy was born May 11, 1943 in Littlefield, TX to Clark and Corda (Young) Carter. 

  Joy was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling the States with Jim when they had their tour business.  She loved sharing her love of the Lord with others.  She married James (Jim) Donald Hughes, Jr., December 3, 1982. 

 She was preceded in death by her husband James (Jim) Donald Hughes, Jr., Mother-in-law, Margaret Hughes, Father, Clark and Mother, Corda (Young) Carter, Brother Kenneth Carter, Nephew Jimmy Carter and Great Niece Dani Blaschke.

  Joy is survived by her Daughter, Phyllis (Myers) Hatfield and Husband J.R., Step-Daughter, Kari (Hughes) Wood and Husband Mike, Brother Buford Carter and wife Mary, Twin Brother, Roy (Pete) Dale Carter and wife Linda, Sister Judy (Carter) Janzen and husband Herman, Sister-in-law Donita (Hughes) McCarrell, and Sister-in-law Carolyn Mills and Husband Jordan. Joy is also survived by her Grandson Alan (A.J.) Owens and wife Alisha, Granddaughter Alison Owens, Grandson Colton Hughes, Step-Granddaughter Callie Hatfield, Step-Granddaughter Jayme (Hatfield) Shead, 5 Great Grandchildren and many Nieces, Nephews and friends.

  Services will take place 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 17, 2016 at the Henson-Novak Chapel with interment to follow at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.
