Charline White

January 30, 1920 ~ December 13, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years Old

Charline H. White, 97, passed away December 13, 2017 at Terrace West Nursing Home, Midland, Texas.

Charline Hyer was born to Winnie Davis (Kendall) and Herbert C. Hyer on January 30, 1920.  The Hyer family lived in Woodward, Oklahoma, where Charline graduated high school.  She later obtained her Masters in Education from Oklahoma State University.  She was united in marriage to Ralph W. White, who returned home from the service for the wedding, on January 21, 1946.  Following the War, the Whites both worked on the farm and taught in the Guymon School System.  Charline was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, where Ralph’s father served as pastor for many years.  In 1989 they decided to move to their beloved Buena Vista, Colorado.  In Colorado, they enjoyed the mountains, fishing and the community.  They were active in the First Baptist Church, enjoyed gardening and playing bridge.  Ralph passed away December 27, 1998.  Charline moved to Midland, Texas to be closer to family. 

She is survived by her two children, Kenny White and wife, Linda Ann of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and Lucy and husband, Billie Ray Proctor of Midland; seven grandchildren, Kaylin, Chad, Shawna, Isaac and Rebeka White, and Linnie and John Proctor, plus twenty-one great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.  She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Linda Huddleston, Mark Hyer, Neil Hyer and Leslie Wright, and their families. 

She was preceded in death by her husband and brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Peggy Hyer.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 26th, 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 310 NW 7th Street, Guymon, with Pastor Carol LaMar officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon.
