Brenda Cox

Brenda Cox, 70, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Thursday morning, June 9, 2016 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Oklahoma City.

The daughter of Wanda Estelle (Bernard) and Royse Wendel Morgan, Brenda Janice was born June 27, 1945 in Dumas, Texas.  She was united in marriage to Billy Wayne Cox on June 1, 1964 in Sunray, Texas.  Brenda had attended beauty school and was a homemaker most of her life.  Brenda and Wayne lived in Spearman, Texas before moving to Guymon in 1971.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Guymon.  Brenda enjoyed bowling, loved playing cards and above all, loved being a mother.

Brenda was preceded in death by her father and two children, Heather, who passed away in 1970 and Zachary who passed away in 1984.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Wayne Cox of the home; her mother, Wanda Morgan; sister, Gay Adkins and husband, Robert of Palestine, TX; her brother, Randy Royce Morgan and wife, Mary of Dumas, Texas and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon, June 13th, 2:00 PM at the Henson-Novak Funeral Chapel, 501 NW Fifth Street, with Rev. Matt Townsend of First Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery.

Friends may come by the funeral home for visitation on Sunday afternoon, 3:00-5:00 PM.
