Maria Bertha Martinez, 70, passed away Saturday morning, January 20, 2018 at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal, Kansas.

The daughter of Tomasa (Sandoval) and Valentine Guerra, Jr., Bertha was born January 13, 1948 in Fronton, Texas.  She was married to John Soto and they had six children.  They lived in Texas for several years and then moved to Tyrone, Oklahoma.  Bertha was a loving mother, grandmother and friend.  She had a strong Christian faith and always prayed for her family.  Bertha enjoyed music of all kinds and her family loved her sense of humor and sharing fun times.

She is survived by four daughters, Laura Soto of Amarillo, Texas, Lisa Garcia and Hortencia Martinez of Turpin; and Tame Martinez of Liberal; her son, Rudy Soto and wife, Lisa of Guymon, Oklahoma; three sisters and four brothers.  Bertha was loving Grandma and Murmur to twenty-six grandchildren, Leo, Andy, Brittany, Brandon, Jeremiah, John, Isabel, Jasmine, Holly, Ali, Joseph, Alexis, Haley, Eddie, Mario, Jesse, Mercedes, Sergio, Selena, Aracely, Fermin, Angel, Pete, Tatiana, Ariana and Anayeli; twenty-three great grandchildren with two more on the way. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers and a son, John Soto, Jr.

The Martinez family will receive friends for viewing and visitation on Monday evening, 6-8:00 PM at Henson-Novak Funeral Home, 501 NW Fifth Street, Guymon.

Funeral services will be Tuesday morning, 11:00 AM at the First Assembly of God Church, 804 NE 12^th Street, Guymon, Oklahoma, with Rev. Richard Martin, pastor, officiating.  Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery, Guymon.
